Areas of Focus
We have two main areas of need that we support in our community:
Animal Welfare & Rescue Support:
We believe that the well-being of pets reflects the compassion of a community. Our foundation supports organizations dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and long-term care of vulnerable animals.
This includes:
- Pet rescue and adoption organizations
- Senior and special-needs animal sanctuaries
- Pet food pantries and programs that help families keep their animals during times of financial hardship
Fewer homeless animals. More pets in safe, permanent homes.
Literacy Across the Lifespan:
Literacy is the foundation of opportunity. Supporting it is an act of compassion. When individuals can read, comprehend, and communicate effectively, doors open — academically, professionally, and personally. Our foundation supports initiatives that expand access to literacy and lifelong learning.
This includes:
- Community partnerships to offer information literacy programming
- Book access programs for underserved communities
- Purchasing materials in underrepresented languages and topics
Strong literacy skills build confident learners. Confident learners build strong communities.
Types of Support Offered
Tall Tails Foundation provides targeted support to advance our focus areas in two meaningful ways.
Micro-Grants:
We award small, strategic grants designed to have a big impact. These grants help organizations address immediate needs, pilot innovative programs, or provide essential resources that make a tangible difference in the communities they serve.
Matching & Project-Based Support
We also partner with organizations undertaking larger initiatives that align with our focus areas. When an organization is raising funds for a matching grant or a specific project, we may contribute to amplify their impact, leveraging our support to encourage broader giving and help achieve ambitious goals.
Geographic Areas of Focus
The Tall Tails Foundation geographic area of focus is eastern Pennsylvania. Preference is given to non-profit organizations located in or serving the following five counties:
- Wayne
- Lackawanna
